Racing Day Highlights: Excitement Builds for Detroit Grand Prix Weekend

KARMA jack Digital Marketing Agency joined forces with the  Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear to celebrate Racing Day at the Detroit Auto Show, an event dedicated to showcasing the energy and passion of motorsport. Held on Friday, January 17, Racing Day brought NTT INDYCAR SERIES drivers, INDY NXT stars, and fans together for an unforgettable experience leading up to the Detroit Grand Prix this May.

The day kicked off with a private tour of the Detroit Auto Show for racing legends Josef Newgarden, David Malukas, and Kyffin Simpson, alongside INDY NXT by Firestone drivers Nolan Allaer and Callum Hedge. Fans were thrilled as Newgarden and Malukas offered exclusive rides in Corvette E-Rays around the Detroit Grand Prix track, while Simpson showcased Honda’s production vehicle capabilities.

A Celebration of Racing and Community

Throughout the day, fans had the opportunity to meet the drivers during an autograph signing and Q&A session at the Chevrolet display, moderated by INDYCAR’s Dave Furst. The event culminated with an insightful panel discussion on the future of racing and the Detroit Grand Prix. Panelists included Rod Reid of NXG Detroit, Bud Denker of the Detroit Grand Prix, Todd Christensen of GM Racing, and Josef Newgarden, hosted by FOX 2 Detroit’s Amy Andrews.

This year’s show saw an increase in younger attendees, with schools organizing field trips and 16 universities presenting at the AutoMobili-D technology showcase. Sam Klemet, first-time director of the Detroit Auto Show and the Detroit Auto Dealers Association, is already looking ahead to 2026.

“We have to think about how we engage with the next generation of engineers and designers,” Klemet said. “We have more automotive talent in the metro Detroit area than just about anywhere else in the world.”

Building Excitement for Detroit Grand Prix Weekend

The KARMA jack team captured the day’s most exciting moments, filming and photographing the event and interviewing drivers. The content will spotlight the enthusiasm for race weekend in Detroit, offering fans a behind-the-scenes look as anticipation builds for May.

“We loved seeing fans light up as they met their heroes,” said Courtney Hayes, Creative Lead at KARMA jack. “It’s these personal connections that make the Detroit Grand Prix such a special event.”

The partnership between KARMA jack and the Detroit Grand Prix continues to grow, leveraging creative storytelling and strategic digital campaigns to elevate the race’s impact on the local community.
